Duties
–Exercises supervisory responsibility over a staff, providing editorial direction.
–Responsible for selecting and approving subject matter to be covered in radio and new media programs.
–Arranges for staff members to cover events, write scripts, and/or produces radio programs.
–Coordinates assistant editors in the selection of source materials used in radio and new media programs.
–Plans and formulated short-term and long-term radio and new media programs.
Qualifications and Evaluations
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
*Basic Requirement For the Position:* Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience to at least the next lower grade level which is directly related to this line of work *AND* working knowledge of the Vietnamese language is required. Specialized experience is experience which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
*Examples of Specialized Experience* *includes:* the ability to manage, supervise and lead a staff producing high quality radio and Internet programs for daily broadcasts to a Vietnamese audience; demonstrated knowledge of journalism and journalistic standards for radio and Internet production.
*Additional Key Requirements:*
This position has been designated supervisory requiring that the selectee, on an initial appointment as a supervisor or manager, service a one-year probationary period.
*Suitability Determination:* If selected, you will be subject to a security investigation to establish your suitability for federal employment. The security investigation will include, among other aspects, a review of your credit and legal history.
