World’s largest classical music festival launched

Posted by haynhi on 19/04/2011

The BBC Proms 2011 Season, arguably the world’s largest classical music festival, has been launched – http://www.bbc.co.uk/proms/features/launch-day/.

The site features a video clip of Benjamin Grosvenor who will be the youngest soloist to perform in the First Night of the Proms.

His official website says: “The eighteen year old British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor is internationally recognized for his electrifying performances and penetrating interpretations.”

And here’s a YouTube video of his performance at the BBC Young Musician of the Year contest when he was 11:

Proms ticket sale starts on May 7th while ‘Promming’ places are always available on the door for £5 each though the queues for some performances can start as early as 7AM.

Posted by haynhi on 08/03/2011

Had a nice roast lamb dinner with Mrs Ni Do and then listened to a range of sentimental songs from years ago…

Particularly love this one

And this Sicilian dialect version is BEST…
